The Beach...

Don't get too excited, it was only in our imaginations...

Madi and I had a little playdate this morning while Matt went to help Ben finish cutting down a tree. Thank you to the BEAUTIFUL sunshine outside, we pretty much spent the whole morning in the backyard! I was weeding (and there is so much more to do) and the kids were playing in the sandbox while I chatted with them. Droiy has lots of stories to tell and somehow decided in the middle of our conversation that it would be a really good idea to go to the beach! Madi interpreted that as an excuse to go dig her swimsuits out and the trip was pretty much in the making!

It didn't seem to bother Droiy one bit that we didn't have any boy swimsuits... he felt as though the pink tutu swimsuit would suit him just fine...

This picture is proof that he put it on himself. I didn't have the heart to tell him no... ;)

Meanwhile, Madelyn got busy and laid towels out for the two of them. She's had lots of good practice laying on the beach in her short life! ;)

I hear the weather was beautiful, sunshiny and not even windy at all!

It really was the perfect day for the beach...

Or so I was told by the three year old!

Evidently we need to work on "thumbs-up"...

It has been noted.

Droiy even had a chance to go for a swim!

It must not have been the Oregon "beach"...

You have no idea how many things were needed on this trip...

A whole wagon full of sand toys.

Pat Sajak and a toy cat.

Ariel.

To get them there, of course.

Shoes.

You never know when you might go for a nice run on the beach!

A whole bag full of extra swimsuits...

And of course, a pesky dog.

Wish you could have been there!

It was almost as good as being at the real beach... =)

Happy Sunny Saturday!!!

  1. That is too good! Love the pink tutu suit (half way on) and shades on Droiy! He will love these photos in a few years. (Maybe at graduation time?)

  3. I have to ask, why does Maddie have a Pat Sajak character? No judgement, Connor loves "Wheel of Fortune", he yells out letters whenever it is on :)
