Sunshine

Sometimes,

You just have to fly...

Madi did that today when we took her outside to play in the grass.

She got pretty high too!

Granted, I was laying on the ground underneath them taking this picture. =)

We just felt like we needed to spice things up because she just kept staring at us like this...

... I think she might think we are quite possibly the most boring people she has experienced in a while.

Don't worry, we didn't take it personally!

We finally got this out of her.

Then we were happy!

I hope your Saturday was WONDERUL!!!

An EPIC Weekend

Our weekend was pretty AWESOME. We went to Seaside on Friday night and stayed the weekend at an amazing resort *please note I did not say "hotel"* with a bunch of my cousins. There were 12 of us altogether (plus 2 babies =) and unfortunately I don't have the group picture on my camera, so I'll have to get it off of our weekend flicker account once Jordan puts his nerdly skills to work and sets that up for everyone...

Anyway, we seriously could not have picked a better weekend to go to the Oregon coast. I have NEVER been there when the weather was this nice, let alone in the middle of "winter". It was completely calm down on the beach and we wore t-shirts and sweatshirts the whole weekend.

Yeah, that's right, you're getting the "epic" picture.

I chose a few of my favorites, but still couldn't limit it to less than 17 pics. =) I don't even have any of the pictures from the "strip" on here - those are all on Jess' camera. We also "made" a group picture for Grandma... that will be showcased later...

Our first trip down to the beach on Saturday morning!

Mac is pretty much ADORABLE. This is my cousin Shawn and his little guy. He turns 1 next week, so Madi and him are about 2 1/2 months apart. They had SO much fun together! =)

Frisbee on the beach! You can see how beautiful it was from this pic (and all of the other ones! =)

Gorgeous little boy! =)

Madi LOVED the sand. I wish we would have played in it more, but there was SO much to do!

Little friends (and cousins =)! They loved following each other around and picking on one another. It was pretty cute!

An early morning swim! This was at about 9:00 in the morning! Madi loved snuggling her Daddy in the pool. =)

More Daddy snuggles...

A little chilly after getting out of the pool, but we couldn't resist another pic with the beach in the background!!!

Lisa, Amador, and *cough, cough* gay boy *cough, cough*, I mean Josh. They were posing because they were matching (and not on purpose)! You'd have thought Jess dressed them, but I can attest that she didn't...

We caught the free Redbull car at just the right time on Sunday morning/afternoon!

Madi loved playing with Uncle Josh's little "shot"!

Just the two of us...

A beautiful family walk on the beach. =) You can't tell well from this picture but Josh LOVED pushing the stroller (because it has shocks) so he pretty much strolled Madi all day on Sunday. It was great! She loved the ride and he had something to do besides "walk"... I suggested to Krista that she might want to purchase or borrow a baby stroller for him to walk with more often because it allows him to do two things at once and not look too abnormal. She thought it was a great idea! Although pushing an empty baby stroller may classify as abnormal, so they might have to rethink that one...

*Please note, Madelyn was well buckled in (shoulder and waste straps) every time Josh was pushing, so we felt as though she would be safe, with the stroller hood acting as a roll bar if needed...

The girls... Addam and Amy and Shawn and Sean had already left at this point, so we're missing a few people... =(

Sisters! I'm not sure why we took this picture into the light...

The girls again...

As you can see, it was a pretty epic weekend... We definitely have plans to do it again next year! We were so thankful to get to spend time with our cousins that we don't see enough!!! Thanks everyone for making the trip! Thanks Jess for putting so much work into getting it all organized, and thank you Mom, Dad, Uncle Gary & Aunt Deb for letting us use your WorldMark!!! We can't wait 'til next year!!! =)

Three-Quarters of a Year!!!

Today marks Madi's 3/4 of a year here on Earth. It's gone by so fast. =( I like fractions. We just finished our fraction unit at school and it was a lot of fun... I was trying to teach Madi how to add fractions with different denominators yesterday. She didn't really have a lot to say about it... I'll give her some time. Here is our afternoon in pictures.

Corn is pretty yummy!

Yes, she's THAT mischievous folks!

=)

I tried to flip this picture over, but when I uploaded it it apparently went back to the original format. =( It's still pretty cute though...

more cuteness...

A quick snuggle with Daddy before he heads off to his last home b-ball game...

My cuties...

All dressed up and ready to go play with Auntie Katie. =)

Yup, she's pretty much ALWAYS on the GO!!!

Unless she's sleeping, of course. =)

Happy Tuesday!!!

A cold, wet, heart filled day...

Happy Valentine's Day!!! Our day was perfect... It started out with Starbucks, which turned out to be free thanks to a register malfunction... so how could the day go wrong!? =)

We headed to the mountain bright and early, even though it was pouring down rain, to meet Uncle Neal, Auntie Stacy, and the cousins for Cameron's birthday celebration!!! Madi experienced her first snow and Matt and I took turns skiing/snowboarding... We didn't take too many pics, but enough for you to get the idea that it was a WET, fun day!!!

Madi did a lot of this in the lodge... apparently skiing - even for the onlookers - is quite tiring!!!

It looked kind of inviting...

We caught a few of the family members at the bottom of the lift for a pic (family - Cameron)...

+ me and Madi =)

... his other Valentine!!!

They're pretty cute...

She loved the cold stuff!!! =)

Madi playing with her Valentine from Auntie Stacy and the boys...

Happy Valentine's Day (a little late)! I hope yours was almost as fun as ours! ;)

A Slice of Summer

Madi modeled her swimsuit for us today. She was in her diaper after making a horrendous mess during lunch (as usual) so I decided to try one of her swimsuits on to see if it still fits. Madelyn is going to the Great Wolf Lodge with her Nana and Papa and cousins in March. Jealous? I know. So am I. Actually, I get to go for a few days too. Unfortunately Matt doesn't get to go though because it's during school... =(

Anyway, I wanted to see if any of her suits still fit. This is one of my faves and it still fits! She pretty much spent the rest of the afternoon in it, which just made us wish for summer even that much more!

Kade came to visit and Madi LOVES him. He's definitely working on reciprocating that... Currently Madelyn is just that annoying girl that won't leave him alone. We're trying to teach her that being needy isn't attractive, but...

Getting ready to kiss him...

Obviously not too interested! =)

And... she's going in for it either way! Don't worry he survived! ;) And I think he'll even come back for another visit someday... possibly because his mom will drag him here, but we don't have to admit that part! =)

V-Day Preview...

Daddy's little baller!

I got a little camera happy the other day and thought I would share a few of my faves...

She's just that cute!

She can get from one end of the house to the other in 49 seconds flat...

Yeah, I timed her - It sounded like a fun game to me so I just pulled out the ol' whip and cracked it a little.

Don't call DHS, I'm just kidding! I just chased her on my hands and knees and she took off... It's a fun game around our house! =)

Our stylish little girl. Sometimes I think she's too trendy for me to even hang out with her. I mean fur boots, skinny jeans, and a cute cap like this (not to mention her "baby blues" as Daddy likes to call them and adorable smile)... I just can't compete.

I guess she's stuck with me for now! =)

So... here's the bottom line. I found a coupon to order some free photo cards for Valentine's Day, so I tried to take a few pictures of her to use for it. She is so stinkin' fast these days though, so I could only get action shots. Her cheesy grins are quick and I'm just not that fast with my camera quite yet...

If anyone is interested, check out www.seehere.com and use the promo code "newbaby". I ordered 40 photo cards and only paid the shipping of $4.99! Pretty sweet deal, I know. I think you can actually get up to 50 for free too - just try adding that many to the cart and then entering the promo code and see what it brings your total down to.

Well, it's time for me to hit the sack. Drinking coffee at 5:00 this evening was not a good idea...
